The goal of this paper is to predict, by using microsimulation modelling under alternative market scenarios, housing wealth inequality in Czech society up to the year 2050. These predictions can be useful for assessing the rationale for attempts to use housing assets as a way of supplementing state pensions; and thus add to existing studies on asset-based welfare (ABW) that focused only on the recent and past situation.

The text deals with the experience of Czech hospital chaplains in 2020. Specifically, it concerns the period during the spring and autumn waves of the pandemic caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus which leads to a viral disease known as covid-19. The article builds on data obtained through an online questionnaire and subsequent ten interviews with hospital chaplains.

When developing anti-poverty policies, policymakers need accurate data on the prevalence of poverty. In this paper, we focus on subjective poverty, a concept which has been largely neglected in the literature, though it remains a conceptually appealing way to define poverty. The primary goal of this study is to re-examine the concept of subjective poverty measurement and to estimate trends in subjective income poverty rates in the European Union.

Období těžby černého uhlí se definitivně chýlí ke konci. Krajina ostravsko-karvinské uhelné pánve hledá cesty pro nové využití. Poddolování s sebou ale do budoucna nese potenciální riziko v podobě nových pohybů povrchu země, například poklesů nebo záchvěvů povrchu. Regenerace poddolovaného území, včetně uvažovaného zatápění dolů a vytvoření rozsáhlých obytných, rekreačních a také průmyslových zón, proto musí následovat až po pečlivém a zodpovědném vymezení všech georizik.

The SQWLi questionnaire was developed for the long-term measurement of subjectively perceived quality of working life. The aim of this study is to test the instrument's measurement invariance between 2009 and 2019 and determine whether - despite the modifications made to the instrument over the years - the results remain comparable.

Survey-based measures of subjective well-being are increasingly often analyzed cross-culturally. However, international comparison of these measures requires measurement invariance. Therefore, the major goal of this study was to investigate the cross-country comparability of the 5-item subjective well-being scales used in the International Social Survey Programme (2011, 2017).

In recent decades, voters have been postponing their decisions about what party to vote for to a time closer to the elections. One factor in this delay is when people are considering more than one political party. Drawing on two data sets from the general elections in the Czech Republic, we present an approach that assigns a person’s vote to multiple considered parties.

Recent HCI scholarship has critiqued anthropocentrism in design as contributing to the ecological crisis. The current paper contributes theoretically and empirically to this area, adopting the lens of Socio-Ecological Relations, inspired by Environmental History and STS. We argue that a socio-ecological lens can offer practical tools to HCI and Interaction Design to overcome the separation between humanity and nature-as-a-resource.
