The chapter analyzes the unique research on religion, carried out in 1963 by Erika Kadlecová and her team; it was the only credible study of religiosity during the entire period of the communist regime. Článek se zaměřuje na zhodnocení spokojenosti s bydlením a její vývoj v České republice v období po roce 2000. Cílem je identifikovat faktory ovlivňující rozdílnou úroveň spokojenosti s bydlením u jednotlivých skupin obyvatelstva, a přispět tak k lepšímu pochopení procesů na pozadí tohoto jevu. V komparativní perspektivě průřezových let 2001 a 2013 se autoři věnují prezentaci hlavních zjištění vyplývajících ze dvou na sebe navazujících vln kvantitativního sociologického šetření.

This article investigates and tests the relationship between values (PVQ scale) and personality traits (NEO-FFI) using non-recursive structural modelling while controlling for other potentially significant variables (e.g. age, gender, attractiveness, cognitive skills), an approach that is proposed as an alternative to correlation and regression analyses, which are more common in this type of psychological research.

This article explores the development of part-time employment in Central and Eastern Europe and compares it to Western Europe. On the macro level it examines the role of the business cycle and its effect on part-time employment in the two groups of countries since 2001. The key result reveals that contrary to the West, the business cycle development exerts a significant negative effect on the part-time employment rate in Eastern Europe.

Care pathways are a prominent feature of efforts to improve healthcare quality, outcomes and accountability, but sociological studies of pathways often find professional resistance to standardisation. This qualitative study examined the adoption and adaptation of a novel pathway as part of a randomised controlled trial in an unusually complex, non‐linear field – emergency general surgery – by teams of surgeons and physicians in six theoretically sampled sites in the UK.
