Schools for Democracy: A Waste of Time? Roles, Mechanisms and Perceptions of Civic Education in Czech and German Contexts. This article investigates the role of school-based civic education in the formation of political commitment, motivation and self-efficacy. The article is based on 60 qualitative interviews with university students from the Czech Republic and East and West Germany.

ČR vykazuje dlouhodobě jeden z nejvyšších rozdílů v průměrných mzdách mužů a žen (GPG) v rámci EU. Za příčinu vy-sokého GPG bývá v ČR často považována rozdílná úroveň vzdělání anebo segregace do kategorií zaměstnání. Segrega-ce do kategorií zaměstnání nicméně vysvětluje pouze asi čtvrtinu celkového rozdílu mezd a ženy dosahují vyššího vzdě-lání než muži.

This research study aimed to identify and analyse attitudes of Czech primary school pupils toward people with intellectual disabilities (ID). In total 2295 pupils aged 10 to 15 years participated in the study. The questionnaire based on the Likert scale design was utilised as the research tool. Its items were divided into four dimensions (interpersonal liking; social status and rights of people with ID; social integration; fear) using the explorative factor analysis.

Odborná monografie je koncipována jako teoreticko-výzkumná studie, která se zabývá dosud marginálně řešenou tematikou prekoncepcí intaktních žáků o mentálním postižení. Cílem studie bylo v teoretické rovině stručně vymezit koncept mentálního postižení a akcentovat proměnu paradigmatu současného vzdělávání se zřetelem na integraci a inkluzi. Zvláštní pozornost byla také věnována teoreticko-epistemologickým východiskům prekoncepcí a současnému stavu vědeckého poznání v dané oblasti.

V posledních pětadvaceti letech prochází české školství zřetelnou proměnou, dochází k paradigmatickým střetům, konceptuálním a strukturálním obměnám a též k přijetí nových cílů vzdělávání. K základním východiskům této transformace patří idea inkluze, která je v podmínkách našeho současného vzdělávání rozvíjena prozatím spíše v teoretické než praktické rovině.

V této práci byla pozornost zaměřena na dosud opomíjenou problematiku výzkumu žákovských prekoncepcí a miskoncepcí k fenoménu netholismu, gamblingu a náboženských sekt. Cílem kvantitativní výzkumné studie bylo zjistit, zda se liší prekoncepce žáků k těmto vybraným sociálně patologickým jevům z hlediska genderu a navštěvovaného ročníku. Výzkum byl realizován na 10 základních školách u 1144 žáků ve věkové kohortě 10–15let. Jako výzkumný nástroj byl použit dotazník a myšlenkové mapování.

Studie se zabývá kvalitativním výzkumem prekoncepcí intaktních žáků o mentálním postižení. Na základě rozboru vinět a prostřednictvím hloubkových rozhovorů, které zahrnují Leventhalův pětidimenzionální model porozumění postižení, jsou u třech žáků ve věkové kohortě 10 - 15 let charakterizovány a analyzovány jejich prekoncepce. Výsledky poukazují na vývojové tendence v dětském myšlení o mentálním postižení.
