Při uvažování o sociologické kategorii sociálního kapitálu je třeba brát v úvahu jeho dvě základní polohy. V první řadě kontakty, sociální sítě s důrazem na formální členství v dobrovolných organizacích, v druhé řadě pak jakousi formu psychologického majetku jednotlivce či skupiny, důvěru jak v ostatní občany, tak ve společenské instituce a celou komunitu [Johnson, Soroka 2001].

Theoretical implications of consumption as differentiating mechanism contributing to the collective identity of social class are discussed. I analyze differences in conspicuous consumption and its antipole taste of necessity (preferences for branded / unbranded goods) among social classes ABCDE on the data MML TGI 2004. There are differences between classes in both domains but along with influence of gender and age.

This article tries to answer how government performance can be measured. Possible approaches can be dividend into four groups: approaches using indicators of the socio-economic development in the governed area, approaches measuring government performance by means of a subjective evaluation, approaches focused on procedural and institutional effectiveness and the quality of government performance and approaches measuring government performance with the aid of aggregate indexes.
