The two parties that partnered with the ODS after the 2006 elections in minority government, the KDU-ČSL and the Green Party, are now absent from parliament. Two new parties, TOP 09 and Public Affairs, sprung onto the scene with over 10% votes each. The two pillars of the party system, the ODS and the CSSD, lost substantial support in the election.
