Class interests play an important role in voting behaviour in the Czech Republic. The highest electoral turnout has been found among high professionals, the lowest among semi-skilled and un-skilled workers. Right-wing ODS is voted most often by middle and upper middle class (independents, higher professionals), left wing ČSSD and KSČM working and lower class (skilled, semi-skilled, and un-skilled workers). However, social class does not explain voting behaviour completely. Analyses showed effect of status interests on voting behaviour as well. Status interests are especially strong in lower middle class (lower professionals and routine non-manual workers).
