Co si neuděláš, to nemáš aneb ženský aktivismus, produkce znalosti a gender

In this paper I provide a brief overview of issues thematised in this area by feminist epistemologists over the past thirty years; in relation to the position of women in science I look into the pre-World War I period and mobilisation of female university graduates in Czechoslovakia after the war, the transformation of R&D in the CR after 1989 and its impact on women researchers. In the latter part of the paper I turn my attention to activities and measures supporting women in science in CR and their framing within European activities, and I provide an overview of basic problems and measures. In the concluding part I address the development of gender studies in the CR after 1989 as one of the tools for achieving gender equality, and the topics gender research in the CR looks into.
