Hlavní cíle projektu
V návaznosti na dva předcházejí projekty Národní kontaktní centrum – ženy a věda (OK 457
a 1P OK 459), které probíhaly v letech 2001-2004 a 2005-2008, evropské aktivity na poli
„vědecká kultura a gender“ a „věda ve společnosti“, účast v evropských projektech
Rámcového programu a v poradních orgánech Evropské komise jsou cíle projektu NKC-ŽV:
- přispívat k produkci vědeckých poznatků o postavení žen a mladých lidí ve vědě z genderového hlediska, a to ve všech relevantních souvislostech ekonomických, sociálních a kulturních;
- podpořit implementaci opatření na podporu žen a mladých lidí ve vědě;
- stimulovat diskusi o otázkách genderové rovnosti ve vědě na úrovni státní správy, odpovědných orgánů výzkumu a vývoje, VŠ a AV ČR;
- zajistit zapojení ČR do mezinárodních aktivit na poli genderové rovnosti a rovnosti mužů a žen ve vědě;
- komunikovat tuto problematiku výzkumné komunitě a širší veřejnosti ČR;
- informovat o možnostech účasti na evropském výzkumu;
- podpořit účast žen a mladých vědeckých pracovníků na evropském výzkumu;
- rozvíjet debaty o vykazatelnosti vědy z hlediska genderové rovnosti a z hlediska propojení výzkumu a občanské společnosti v intencích dvousměrné komunikace mezi vědou a společností.
Koncepce projektu
Koncepce projektu NKC-ŽV se rozvíjí po dvou základních liniích: 1. podpůrné a
infrastrukturní a 2. teoreticko-výzkumné. První oblast aktivit se zaměřuje zejména
na posílení vnímání důležitosti problematiky rovných příležitostí ve vědě a výzkumu v rámci
vědecké komunity, státní správy i společnosti jako celku a na prosazení opatření směřujících
ke zlepšení postavení žen v české vědě. V rámci druhé oblasti dochází k budování znalostní
báze členek NKC-ŽV v oblasti genderové sociologie a vědních studií.

Building on an analysis of current empirical surveys the chapter focuses on mapping and analyzing the inclusion of women in politics in the Czech Republic. The main objective is to study the reasons for the low representation of women in political functions in the Czech Republic. It concentrates primarily on institutional, individual and social barriers to women’s entry into political functions. The paper also goes on to map the existing activities supporting women in politics.
The authors analyze the impact of women’s civic organizations and groups on promotion of gender equality in the era of socio-economic transformation and the EU eastern enlargement period. They also analyze what was the role of those processes on women’s groups and NGOs in the Czech Republic.
The paper examines the role of female journalists in promoting women-oriented topics in the media. Based on interviews with female journalists from private and public media, the analysis strives to capture the relationships between the structures of media organisations and journalists as individual actors.
In this paper I provide a brief overview of issues thematised in this area by feminist epistemologists over the past thirty years; in relation to the position of women in science I look into the pre-World War I period and mobilisation of female university graduates in Czechoslovakia after the war, the transformation of R&D in the CR after 1989 and its impact on women researchers.
