The text is a comparative study of conditions of employees who are parents of small children, in Czech branch and in the headquarters of a French company. The company is a very demanding employer. The principal advantage offered and used in France and in the Czech Republic is the flexible working hours. In France, parents can moreover benefit from many partial advantages given by the union contract, on the other hand they are expected to spend long hours at their workplace, exceeding their official working hours. In the Czech Republic such long working hours are not necessarily expected, but parents suffer from the lack of formalised procedures controlled by labour unions.
