The region that forms the focus of this study is Orlicko in the in the District of Ústí nad Orlicí in the Pardubice Region, and specifically the area encompassed under the Association of Municipalities of Orlicko. Indicators of political and civic participation and indicators of partnership between the public, private, and non-profit sectors provide an idea of the level of development of civil society in Orlicko. These indicators are examined on the basis of national and regional statistics and databases and surveys conducted by the CVVM. In Orlicko region civil society is developing in recent years. The level of civic participation is rising - new NGOs are arising and their cooperation with private and public sector is also evolving. In comparison of other regions of Pardubicky kraj Orlicko has lower level of financing of non-profit sector and lower proportion of non-profit organizations. The cause we could find in the social and economic character of resettled border region.
