The subject of this sociologically oriented project is a case study of the lives of businessmen and businesswomen in contemporary Czech society. The project offers a comprehensive analysis of social and political mechanisms affecting professional and private lives of businessmen and businesswomen, with an emphasis placed on the gendered social arrangements.

Study is based on the sociology of family, the sociology of work and the sociology of organisation and management, combining these fields from the perspective of the sociology of gender.
This article sets out to show how the position of women in the labour market, and the individual factors that influence their position, have changed over the course of the transformation of Czech society in the 1990s.
In the article, issues relating to the socio-political measures aimed at increasing flexibility in managing the relationship between the spheres of work and family on the individual level of life strategies are examined within the framework of the gender theories of organisation. The environment of management is described as a gender regime in which an organisational masculinity functions.

This book is the first Czech attempt at a comprehensive understanding of gender relations within organisations. The book aims to clarify and describe the issues that the management of gender relations deals with, and to stimulate and advance gender awareness and sensitivity among readers.
The goal of the text is to present the main characteristics of womens' position on the labor market in comparison with men in their most important aspects and on the other hand to show the reflexion of this position by women and men.
